Cabernet Franc is a bit like one of the Baldwin brothers completely overshadowed by its more famous sibling. But in Saumur Champigny it gets it’s time in the spotlight and this is a lovely version. Ruby red and floral this has a lightness and freshness that makes it perfectly suited to summer evenings. It is particularly good with grilled meats so a good fatty pork chop with some herby green beans and buttery new potatoes would be perfect.
