Warm greetings to you all, especially as the nights are drawing in. It’s been a difficult year for everyone and in truth, we’re not fully back to normal yet. You, our valued customers, made sure through your phenomenal support, we got through the hardest parts of the last 18 months. For this we will be eternally grateful. As we move forward together into an uncertain future we are hoping to bring some of the magic back that just hasn’t been possible in recent times. Let’s all raise a glass to the magic of wine!

LOCAL BEER

Keep your eyes peeled for New Craft Ales hitting our shelves in the run up to Christmas and into the New Year. We have like so many other had our share of Challenges in keeping our shelves full over the last 18 months.

One of the great joys to come out of this time though has been the support of a number of Local Brewers who have been able to keep us and you stocked up, even when some others could not. We are also grateful to our customers who showed their support for Local business and kept us going.

We are keen therefore to celebrate the best that Yorkshire has to offer and if we can help other independent businesses then so much the better. The Craft Ale scene is thriving in Yorkshire and we will continue to try to work with and support local breweries and showcase their delicious beers.

The range will continue to evolve and we want it be a dynamic offering that gives you different ales every time you shop. We are always keen to hear from our enthusiastic hopheads so if we have missed your favourite local brew let us know and we will try to get some in.

A&H Winefair November 20/2021

One of the Highlights of our year has been the Ake and Humphris Christmas Winefair, our opportunity to share favourite wines and a good share of new and exciting wines. This was impossible last year but with a few tweaks to ensure this years tasting can go ahead we are very happy to invite you to come and sample some fantastic wines with us.

This year we will be at Roosters Tap Room Hornbeam Park in Harrogate just moments from Hornbeam Train Station. The event will be held on the 20th November and we will be running three sessions 12 - 2pm, 3-5pm and 6-8pm so book the babysitters and make a note in your diary.

It's ticket only and first come first served so make sure you get yours early because they won’t hang around and once they're gone they're gone. Tickets are available in the events section of our website or from our Collingham and Harrogate stores £20 each or two for £30.

As always we have lots of different wines for you to try and some great deals to help you stock up the wine rack. There will be red, white, rosé and fizz and of course the expert advice of our friendly staff to help guide you. We will also be showing a selection of Yorkshire Single Malt Whisky from Filey Bay and Gin by Whittakers Distillery.

If that's still not got you convinced then Roosters will have some of their beers available to sample, so whatever your tipple we’ve got you covered. Why not visit the Roosters Taproom after for a quick bite and a sneaky pint? Even if you've been to one of our events before; in fact especially if you have, you can't afford to miss this one.

Instore tastings are back!!

We have started to return to offering samples to customers who visit us at the weekend of a selection of wines so you can explore our range and your palate.

Our staff are always keen to chat about what makes the wines we have selected worth trying and can often help us to understand the flavours you enjoy so we can give you better recommendations. There is never any obligation to buy, just a chance for us to share some of our favourite wines with you.

New wines.

Our winebuyer Paul has been busy sourcing new and exciting wines after a frustrating 18 months when it has been difficult to source products he has manged to uncover some real gems.

Wine tasting event

The Killibinbin range has always been excellent but the introduction of a new Shiraz and Cabernet gives us something special. The Sneaky Shiraz is a firm favourite already, lush dark berries aromas and creamy blackberry pastries with a touch of spice make this ideal with a good steak pie.

Argentina and Chile have always been close to his heart so it's no suprise that there are new exciting wines from here joining our range too. With a premium Malbec the awesome Ver Sacrum La Cayetana Malbec top of the list  this was a wine so good Paul just couldn't say no.

Keep your eyes peeled for more New wines coming soon....
